Novice Stake for 14 Dogs

at Barkby, Leicestershire

on Tuesday 19th September 2017

Open Qualifying Stake

at The Packington Estate, Warwickshire

on Wednesday & Thursday 11th & 12th October 2017

Thank you very much to Sussie Wiles, Sue Schofield, Paul Collins, Barton Ramsey, Glynn Sykes, Linda Partridge, Kate Smith and picker-up Chris and the other helpers who supported the trial over the two days. Also to Matt Nesbitt and the team on the Packington Estate for looking after us so well. The Yellow Labrador Club held its 2-day open qualifying stake at Packington by kind permission of Lord Aylesford & Lord Guernsey and under the excellent management of Head Keeper, Matt Nesbitt.

The Estate provided a background for some excellent and challenging work for the competitors over the trial. The guns, led by Dave Brown shot brilliantly, making it an easier job for the judges to put the dogs through their paces.
Judges Allan Schofield, Gilly Nickols, John Yarwood and Diana Stevens came to a unanimous decision for the awards:

1st: Craig Perry with Rimrock Wolf - running in his second ever trial.
2nd: Roger Wade with Lendown Gorse Of Wadeshot. Roger’s dog was also awarded Gun’s Choice and Best Looking Dog in the awards.
3rd: Reuben Mort with Fendawood Feller.
4th: Mark Demaine with Leacaz Ricky of Claytonfel
